My care is client-centered and aimed at identifying your goals while providing up-to-date evidence based information and recommendations on lactation and infant feeding. About me
My Journey
Hi, my name is Alona Hodik and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Certified Childbirth Educator but first and foremost I am the proud mother of 3 wonderful Children, 2 girls and a little boy - all exclusively breastfed and the reason I became a lactation consultant.
When I gave birth to my first daughter in 2012 I knew I wanted to breastfeed but wasn't really sure how to go about it. In the hospital, I asked the nurses to help with feedings but something just wasn't working. My baby and I continued to struggle with latching, so I called a Lactation Consultant to help me and it was like magic, something just clicked and we finally got it! Thanks to her help I exclusively breastfed my first baby for almost 2 years and she self weaned when I was six months pregnant with her sister. I went on to breastfeed my second and third babies until after their second birthdays.
During my own breastfeeding journey and struggles I realised that I want to be a Lactation Consultant and help other mothers and families just like that amazing Lactation Consultant helped me!

Online Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

Free
A Free 1.5 hours breastfeeding class for expecting parents. The class is held monthly @8pm online via zoom to make it more accessible to working parents.
The class prepares you for the early days of breastfeeding a newborn and is informative, fun and interactive. Many parents said they came out from the class feeling confident and a lot more knowledgable about normal newborn behaviour and breastfeeding.
Private Antenatal Childbirth Course

The perfect way for you and your partner to prepare for the birth of your precious little bubba in the comfort of your home. Designed to address your needs and what you want from your labor, birth and parenthood. We will emphasise team work and your partner's role in supporting mama in labor, birth and beyond.
The course is 2 sessions of 3 hours each and covers the following topics based on your needs and wishes:

Physiology of labor and birth, signs that labor is starting, stages of labor etc.
